Status

Hello all, I'm still alive. Just a little update on what I've been up to for the past few weeks:

At my work, we recently lost about 75% of our programmer staff in the span of a couple weeks. This caused me to:

a) Lose the week and a half of vacation I had set aside at the end of the year, when I intended to do quite a bit of WoWBuilder work.

b) Work 60-80 hour weeks since Mid-December.

So I haven't forgoten about WoWBuilder, and have no intention of letting it become abandonware. I would open-source the code before that happened. I'm also glad to see that people are using it, and there is a "demand" for more enhancements.

The good news: We have some new people starting next week, so I expect things to get better as far as my free time is concerned. The end of the year is always a nightmare for people in business IT, and this one was no exception. Management wants to get as much as they can into production by year's end for budgetary reasons.

The next major feature I had planned for WoWBuilder, was a way for it to pull down pricing data from the Internet (likely from Shuffle & Cut). I get the feeling people might want either a different major feature, or a bunch of minor features for the next release. I've posted a thread in the forum for people to voice their opinions on what should be next. If you have a feature that you desperately want to see added, post there. I will also be sifting through the suggestions forum to see what is there that could be added soon.

Thanks for using the app, and again I apoligize for my MIA time. Believe me, if I could do nothing but develop WoW Builder (and of course, play WoW in the CCG and MMO form) I would ;)

WoWBuilder 0.92 Beta Released

Another WoWBuilder release is availble at wow-builder.com. This new version contains a couple bug fixes, but most importantly, a highly requested feature: Filtering! See the changelist below for all the details, and feel free to leave feedback in the forums.

NOTE: This software requires the .NET 2.0 framework. You can download it
here.

If you are updating from a previous version, simply overwrite your old files with those in the download.

CHANGELIST
========

New Features:

- Filtering has been added to the Inventory and Deck editors, allowing you to set up combinations of filters on just about every column in each view. If you want to see something like only all Horde allies with at least a 3 ATK of Shadow damage... now you can.

Changes:

- Changed reporting off inventories, by removing some of the options, and just allowing the user to generate reports based on the current Inventory filter settings. In this way, you can create whatever combination of reports you wish to.

Bug Fix:

- Fixed bug where saving a deck, starting a new deck, then hitting 'Save' would overwrite the previous deck.
- I've hopefully squashed that "Input string was not in correct format" bug. The problem occured when the program was run on a localized versions of Windows in countries where they don't use a '.' for their decimal seperator (Many European countries for example.)

If you are updating from a previous version, simply overwrite your old files with those in the download.
CHANGELOG
======
New Features:

- Report Printing! The reports currently implemented are:
	* List of cards in inventory
	* List of cards you want
	* List of cards needed to complete set/collection
	* Cards in current deck
	* Cards needed to complete deck
- Added totals to the inventory editor.
- Added save/save as functionality, so you aren't prompted for a file everytime you save.

Changes:

- The application will now prompt you before clearing your deck.
- If you are editing a deck, and make a change to the have total in the inventory view, that change will be reflected in the deck view.
- Reveresed the colors on the total cards in deck label.
- When checking for new versions, it will now tell you if you are already up to date, instead of doing nothing.
- The # of a card you have in your deck will color itself, based on the cards you have on hand in your inventory. Black means that you have enough of that card, red means you do not.

Bug Fixes:

- Some have had an issue with the application crashing due to an error that states: "Input string was not in correct format". I believe I have fixed it. Please contact me through the wow-builder.com forums if you still experience this problem.

WoWBuilder 0.9 Beta Released

WoWBuilder is an application I wrote to satisfy a need in the WoW:TCG community. I wanted software that would track my collection, as well as a deck builder that would show me what cards I had in my collection for building decks. None of the web-based apps I ran across offered both of these features in quite the way I wanted, and I couldn't find any "traditional" software for WoW:TCG at all. So I decided to write my own. Please enjoy, and if you like the software, tell your friends. You can leave me questions and feedback on the forums.

Enjoy,
Brian Wohldmann

NOTE: This software requires the .NET 2.0 framework. You can download it here:

FEATURES
======
- All card data is stored in XML files, for easy use in other applications, and to make it simple to update the card data, without needing to update the application.

- All card data is current, with errata as of 11/15/2006

- In the Inventory View, you can add cards to your collection, as well as mark cards you want to acquire. This information can be saved and loaded.

- In the Deck View, you are presented with only cards eligible for the particular deck you are building. No need to wade through cards that can only be used by other classes/factions.

- Deck stats are generated, with counts on the types and costs of cards in the current deck.

- Filter the deck view so that it only shows cards you currently own in your inventory.
